Ashley Winnop
Senior Intern
Ashley Winnop is a Senior Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in French. Winnop is a member of the United Nations Association at UCF. In addition to her major, Winnop’s research interests include languages, history and international law. She plans to pursue graduate studies in journalism, peace studies or law. Winnop has traveled extensively throughout Europe, Jamaica, Mexico and Canada. She is fluent in French and Spanish.

Sara Gomez
Intern
Sara Gomez is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International & Global Studies and French, with a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She is the Deputy Pro Tempore of Senate Operations of the Student Government Association and an active member of the Honors Congress. Her research interests include gender quotas in politics, human rights, and diplomacy. Upon graduation, she plans on teaching English abroad prior to pursuing graduate studies in International Development. Fluent in Spanish and proficient in French, she has traveled to Colombia, the Caribbean, Canada, Mexico, and throughout Europe.

Carolina Cepeda
Public Relations Intern
Carolina Cepeda is a public relations intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in Advertising and Public Relations, with a minor in Writing and Rhetoric. She is a member of Quotes and UCF’s Ad club. As an international student from Venezuela, her research interests include international cultures, human rights, and communism. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing graduate coursework in International Relations. Fluent in Spanish, Cepeda has traveled throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, and Russia.

Daniella Melendez
Intern
Daniella Melendez is an intern for the Global Perspectives office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in Political Science, with a minor in English Literature and a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Her research interests include immigration, homelessness, and English literature. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science. A student of Spanish, Melendez has travelled to Peru and Canada.

Melissa Berrios
Senior Intern
Melissa Berrios is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in European Studies. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi Fraternity and Chi Omega Sorority. Her research interests include European history, politics, and culture. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in International Communication. A student of Spanish, French, and Portuguese, Berrios has traveled to Chile, Argentina, Holland, Germany, Turkey, France, and Italy.

Rafaella Lobo
Intern
Rafaella Lobo is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is on her first year of graduate school, pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science – Environmental Politics. Her research interests include Global Environmental Politics, Sustainability and Conservation Biology, with a special interest in Marine Conservation Biology. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a PHD degree in Environmental Studies. A current student of French, Lobo is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish. She is from Brazil, and has traveled to many different states within the US, as well as Mexico, Canada, South Africa, and all over Western Europe. She has also lived in many of these locations, as part of university exchange, volunteer work and language programs.
