Udani, Catalina

Catalina Udani

Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow

Catalina Udani is the Fall 2017 Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Communication, with minors in Intelligence and National Security and Terrorism Studies. She is an executive member of both the UCF Ethics Bowl Team and the Tae Kwon Do Team and is a Team Leader in the Burnett Honors College. Her research interests include economic growth in developing countries and the black market contribution to international trade. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on Ethics. A student of German and Filipino, Udani has traveled throughout Europe, East and Southeast Asia.

 

 
Ram, Christelle

Christelle Ram

Isle of Man Small Countries Fellow

Christelle Ram is the Fall 2017 Isle of Man Small Countries Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at Rollins College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Critical Media and Cultural Studies and Anthropology. She is a member of the Rollins’ Honor program and an executive board member of Rollins’ activist organization, Imagine Justice. Her research interests include Latin America and the Caribbean, globalization and its repercussions, and post- colonial economic development. Upon graduation she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in political journalism. In her free time Christelle enjoys writing and traveling.  A first generation American, Christelle has lived in Guyana and has traveled throughout the Caribbean and South Africa.

 
Melendez, Stephanie

Stephanie Melendez

India Fellow

Stephanie Melendez is the Fall 2017 India Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Diversity and Social Inequality. She is a member of the National Organization for Women at UCF and a LEAD Scholar. Her research interests include women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and guerrilla warfare in developing countries. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in cultural anthropology. A student of Spanish, Melendez has traveled to Ecuador and Costa Rica.

 
Torres, Angie

Angie Torres

Stephen Sloan Terrorism Studies Fellow

Angie Torres is the Fall 2017 Stephen Sloan Terrorism Studies Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing an undergraduate degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Intelligence and National Security. She is in the Senior Scholars Program for Political Science and a CREAR Futuros Mentor. Her research interests include international security, terrorism and gender studies. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a Ph.D. in Political Science. Torres is fluent in Spanish and has traveled throughout North and Central America.

Maggie Morgan

Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow

Maggie Morgan is the Fall 2017 Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing undergraduate degrees in Political Science and Writing and Rhetoric. She is a member of The Burnett Honors College and a writer for Her Campus. Her research interests include human trafficking, women’s rights and international law. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a law degree or working within the U.S. Department of State. Morgan has traveled to Mexico.

 
Yerby, Nathaniel

Nathaniel Yerby

Sibille H. Pritchard Global Peace Fellow

Nathaniel Yerby is the Fall 2017 Sibille H. Pritchard Global Peace Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science and Public Administration, with a minor in History. He is a member of the Burnett Honors College and volunteers at the Seminole County Bar Association Legal Aid Society. His research interests include the politics of Europe and the Middle East. Upon graduation, he plans to attend law school. A student of Spanish, Yerby has traveled to the United Kingdom, Canada, Iceland, and Nicaragua.

 
Smith, Zoe

Zoe Smith

Lester N. Mandell Fellow

Zoe Smith is the Fall 2017 Lester N. Mandell Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Terrorism Studies and certificates in Diplomacy, Criminal Profiling and Intelligence and National Security. She is a Student Assistant for the Burnett Honors College and a member of Honors Congress. Her research interests include preventative diplomacy, international relations and culture. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a career with the U.S. State Department. A student of French, Smith hopes to study abroad this summer.
