Goberdhan, Pratyush S.

Pratyush S. Goberdhan

India Center Special Projects Scholar

Pratyush S. Goberdhan is the Spring 2017 Special Projects Scholar for the The India Center and Global Perspectives Office. He is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with minors in French and Art History. He is a member of Sangam Indian Students Association and the United Nations Association at UCF, and is a professional Indian classical musician. His research interests include Kashmir, secularism in India and the struggle between cultural identity and progress. Upon graduation, he plans on pursuing law school. A student of French and Hindi, Goberdhan has traveled to China, Ireland, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.

Emily Jaczko

Global Connections Senior Scholar

Emily Jaczko is the Spring 2017 Global Connections Senior Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at Rollins College pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, with a minor in International Affairs. Her research interests include climate change and global warming and human rights development. Upon graduation, she plans on furthering her education by pursuing a graduate degree in journalism with a focus in international relations.

 
Wintzer, Lubba

Lubba Wintzer

Global Connections Scholar for Middle Eastern Studies

Lubba Wintzer is the Spring 2017 Global Connections Scholar for Middle Eastern Studies for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minors in European Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. She is a member of the International Relations club and Knights for Israel. Her research interests include Middle Eastern issues, the relationship between the United States, Europe and Russia, and the effect of one State’s decision upon the world. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in International Relations or Conflict Resolution. A student of French and Hebrew, Wintzer has traveled throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

 
Ard, Sara Lynn

Sara Lynn Ard

David Boone Human Trafficking Awareness Sr. Scholar

Sara Lynn Ard is the Spring 2017 David Boone Human Trafficking Awareness Sr. Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a dual bachelor degree in Political Science and Legal Studies, with a minor in Sociology. She is a member of the International Justice Mission, Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force and The Clinton Global Initiative University. Her research interests include human trafficking, counterterrorism and the rights of women and children. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in a field related to global affairs. A student of English decent, Ard has traveled throughout the U.S. as well as to Honduras.

 
Udani, Catalina

Catalina Udani

India Fellow

Catalina Udani is the Spring 2017 India Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Human Communication, with minors in Intelligence and National Security and Computer Science. She is a member of the UCF Ethics Bowl Team and the Tae Kwon Do Team. Her research interests include South Asian technological and economic growth and its international consequences. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in National Security with a focus in intelligence ethics. A student of German and Filipino, Udani has traveled throughout Europe, East and Southeast Asia.

 
Ruchser, Jamie

Jamie Ruchser

China-Taiwan Cross Strait Fellow

Jamie Ruchser is the Spring 2017 China-Taiwan Cross Strait Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations with minors in Spanish and French. She is a member of the Pi Sigma Alpha political science honor society and a cast member at Walt Disney World. Her research interests include the Middle East and linguistics. Upon graduation, she plans on working with the Peace Corps. A student of Spanish and French, Ruchser has traveled to the Caribbean and Europe.

 
Lucien, Cherly

Cherly Lucien

Lester N. Mandell Diplomacy Fellow

Cherly Lucien is the Spring 2017 Lester N. Mandell Diplomacy Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science – International Relations with a certificate in Victim Advocacy. She is a member of the UCF Homecoming Executive Board and the Student Conduct Review Board. Her research interests include diplomacy studies, human rights and immigration. Upon graduation, she plans to attend law school to specialize in international and human rights and immigration law. Bilingual in French and English, Lucien has traveled throughout Haiti and the United States.
