The Sibille H. Pritchard Global Peace Fellowship
The Global Perspectives Office at UCF and the Global Connections Foundation will provide an opportunity for an outstanding undergraduate (at least junior level) or graduate student from a Central Florida college or university to serve as a Global Peace Fellow. Those applying for the Global Peace Fellowship the semester before their junior year will be considered “Rising Juniors” and thus eligible to apply.
The selected student will work on a research project related to peace studies, under the direction of Global Perspectives Office staff and scholars, with the aim of producing a final paper that is worthy of publication. In addition, Global Peace Fellows will contribute to the activities of the Global Perspectives Office and affiliated programs.
The weekly time commitment is approximately ten hours. Global Peace Fellows will receive $500.00 for the semester. Students aspiring to become Global Peace Fellows should have a minimum GPA of 3.5. A board of reviewers drawn from UCF and the community will evaluate applications and make selections. A one-page cover letter, a 5-10 page writing sample, an unofficial transcript and a resume with two listed references are required.
Supported by the Peace Studies Fund of the Global Connections Foundation, the purpose of this fellowship is to recognize and honor the work of Sibille Pritchard, a resident of Oviedo, Florida, who has labored tirelessly on behalf of international awareness and understanding for decades through her civic and global leadership.
