Amberin Zaman

Contemporary Kurdish Politics in the Middle East

This lecture features Amberin Zaman, a columnist for Al-Monitor’s Turkey Pulse who has covered Turkey, the Kurds and Armenia for The Washington Post, The Daily TelegraphThe Los Angeles Times and the Voice of America. She served as The Economist‘s Turkey correspondent between 1999 and 2016. She was also a Public Policy Scholar at the Woodrow Wilson Center for International Scholars in Washington D.C. from January 2016 to May 2017.

This conference will bring together an interdisciplinary group of academics and practitioners to discuss hurricane preparedness, including those who specialize in forecasting, analysis, trends, planning, crisis communication, emergency response, flooding, storm surge, construction, infrastructure, economic, environmental, health and other impacts, education and public awareness.
