Tyler Cain is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a senior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing a B.A. in Political Science: International Relations and Comparative Politics. His areas of research interest include development, international law, and economic trade. Tyler serves as the Secretary of the French Club at UCF and is an Honor’s in the Major student whose thesis focuses on Central Asian energy policy. After graduation he will pursue a law degree with a focus on international law. Tyler has traveled extensively throughout the Americas and speaks conversational French and some Spanish.
Ghislaine Paalman is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomat in Residence Program. She has a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Central Florida, and is planning to undertake master s work in Applied Economics. She was born in Aruba, has lived in Holland and has traveled in many parts of the Americas. She speaks Papiamento, Dutch and Spanish.
Malvina Gasco is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomat in Residence Program. She is a senior at UCF, with a double major in Political Science and General Business. Born in Peru and raised in Panama, she speaks Spanish and aspires to a career in diplomacy.
Leila Bighash is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomat in Residence Program. She is a junior at UCF, majoring in Political Science. She speaks Farsi and has an interest in Iran and the Middle East due to her Persian background.
David Torre is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office and the Diplomat in Residence Program. He is a senior at Rollins College, majoring in International Affairs. Originally from New York City, he has lived in Southwest and Central Florida since the age of 10. He is planning to study international law in the fall of 2005.
Maria B. Bacellar
Maria B. Bacellar is a Global Fellow, under the auspices of the Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellows Program at the University of Central Florida, for the Global Perspective Office and the Diplomacy Program. She is a senior in UCF’s College of Business, with majors in Finance and Economics, and is a recipient of the Anil Deshpande Scholarship. Bacellar was born in Brazil, and has traveled in the Americas and Europe. She speaks Portuguese, Spanish and some Italian.
Gabriela Othon is a Global Fellow under the auspices of the Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellows Program at UCF. She is currently pursuing a B.A. in Political Science – International Relations. Prior to this position,was an intern in the Global Perspectives office. She has also worked as manager in the retail sector for several years. Her research interests include environmental politics, sustainability, international relations, and human rights. She is a native of Panama, speaks Spanish and has traveled extensively in the Americas.
