Christine Comfort is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida majoring in International and Global Studies with minors in European Studies and Physics. She is a student of the Burnett Honors College, with research interests in women’s rights and role in the world, the asteroid JU3 and inner-belt asteroid family research. Upon graduation, Comfort plans on joining the Peace Corps and then pursuing graduate studies. Having lived in Florence, she speaks conversational Italian, and plans to study German and Arabic. Comfort has traveled throughout North and South America, the Caribbean and Europe.
Nataya Pihtayanukul is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a dual degree in International and Global Studies and Spanish, with a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Some of her extracurricular activities include participation in Habitat for Humanity, Golden Key International and the National Society of Leadership and Success. In addition to her major, Pihtayanukul’s research interests include Latin American studies, language acquisition and sociological implications of domestic/international politics. After graduating, she plans to pursue graduate studies in International Affairs/Relations. Pihtayanukul speaks Spanish and Thai, and is learning Chinese and French. She has traveled extensively throughout Europe, various Caribbean Islands, Thailand and Laos.
Taylor Haywood is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a Junior at the University of Central Florida majoring in International and Global Studies with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. She is an active member of Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society and Baptist Collegiate Ministries. In addition to her major, Haywood’s research interests include terrorism and counter-terrorism Studies and national security. After graduation, she plans to pursue an M.A. in International Affairs. Haywood speaks conversational Spanish and German, and plans to study Arabic. She has traveled to San Salvador and El Salvador.
Brandon Kelley is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a graduate student pursuing an M.A. in Political Science/International Studies at the University of Central Florida. He earned a B.S. in Exercise Science from West Florida in 2007, and joined the U.S. Army after graduating. Kelley served as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, with a deployment to Baghdad, Iraq from 2008-2009 as a political, counterterrorism, and targeting analyst. His areas of research include national and international security, warfare, terrorism and leader behavior. Kelley has traveled throughout Europe, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
Victoria Augspurger is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida majoring in International and Global Studies with a minor in Middle Eastern Studies. Augspurger plans to continue her studies at UCF by pursuing a graduate degree in international studies. Her research interests include international law, nuclear security and development and global security and stability. She speaks conversational Spanish and plans to study Russian. Augspurger has traveled extensively throughout the Caribbean, South America, French Polynesia and the South Pacific.
