Vertich, Elise

Elise Vertich

Intern

Elise Vertich is a Fall 2017 intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing an undergraduate degree in Marketing, with minors in International Business and Anthropology. She is the membership director of Prospanica UCF and a member of the Chi Omega Fraternity. Her research interests include globalization and diplomacy. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in business anthropology and market research. A student of Spanish, Vertich has traveled throughout Europe and the Caribbean and will be studying abroad in Hong Kong and Japan in the near future.

 
Stephens, Nikki

Nikki Stephens

Intern

Nikki Stephens is a Fall 2017 intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing bachelor’s degrees in both Physics and International and Global Studies. She is a member of the United Nations Association and the International Relations Club. Her research interests include the Middle East and women’s studies. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in Physics and continuing her research in International Studies. A student of French and Japanese, Stephens has traveled to Ireland, Germany, Estonia, Finland, Italy, and Greece.

 
Govil, Ashna

Ashna Govil

Intern

Ashna Govil is a Fall 2017 intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing an undergraduate degree in Political Science/Pre-Law, with a minor in Mass Communications. She is a sister of Pi Beta Phi, a previous Senator for the College of Sciences under the Student Government Association and a member of Phi Delta Phi’s Legal Honor Society. Her research interests include modern political ideologies and terrorism studies. Upon graduation, she plans on furthering her education and attending law school abroad. A student of Spanish, Govil has traveled to many different countries across Europe, the South Pacific, Asia, the Caribbean and the Middle East. She recently studied abroad at one of Australia’s leading universities, The University of Sydney. She was a part of the university’s United States Centre, where she furthered her education in Government and International Relations.

 
Wolfarth-Solano, Allison

Allison Wolfarth-Solano

Intern

Allison Wolfarth-Solano is a Fall 2017 intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Intelligence and National Security. She is a member of CIEE and International Exchange Alumni. Her research interests include immigration trends and patterns as well as international comparative politics. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing graduate studies in Political Science and to work as a local coordinator for international exchange students. A student of German, Wolfarth-Solano studied abroad in Germany and has traveled to France, the Netherlands, Cuba and Mexico.

 
Udani, Catalina

Catalina Udani

Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow

Catalina Udani is the Fall 2017 Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Human Communication, with minors in Intelligence and National Security and Terrorism Studies. She is an executive member of both the UCF Ethics Bowl Team and the Tae Kwon Do Team and is a Team Leader in the Burnett Honors College. Her research interests include economic growth in developing countries and the black market contribution to international trade. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Peace and Conflict Studies with a focus on Ethics. A student of German and Filipino, Udani has traveled throughout Europe, East and Southeast Asia.

 

 
Ram, Christelle

Christelle Ram

Isle of Man Small Countries Fellow

Christelle Ram is the Fall 2017 Isle of Man Small Countries Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at Rollins College pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Critical Media and Cultural Studies and Anthropology. She is a member of the Rollins’ Honor program and an executive board member of Rollins’ activist organization, Imagine Justice. Her research interests include Latin America and the Caribbean, globalization and its repercussions, and post- colonial economic development. Upon graduation she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in political journalism. In her free time Christelle enjoys writing and traveling.  A first generation American, Christelle has lived in Guyana and has traveled throughout the Caribbean and South Africa.

 
Melendez, Stephanie

Stephanie Melendez

India Fellow

Stephanie Melendez is the Fall 2017 India Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Diversity and Social Inequality. She is a member of the National Organization for Women at UCF and a LEAD Scholar. Her research interests include women’s rights, LGBTQ+ rights and guerrilla warfare in developing countries. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in cultural anthropology. A student of Spanish, Melendez has traveled to Ecuador and Costa Rica.
