Goberdhan, Pratyush S.

Pratyush S. Goberdhan

India Center Special Projects Scholar

Pratyush S. Goberdhan is the Spring 2017 Special Projects Scholar for the The India Center and Global Perspectives Office. He is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with minors in French and Art History. He is a member of Sangam Indian Students Association and the United Nations Association at UCF, and is a professional Indian classical musician. His research interests include Kashmir, secularism in India and the struggle between cultural identity and progress. Upon graduation, he plans on pursuing law school. A student of French and Hindi, Goberdhan has traveled to China, Ireland, Canada and Trinidad and Tobago.

Emily Jaczko

Global Connections Senior Scholar

Emily Jaczko is the Spring 2017 Global Connections Senior Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at Rollins College pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, with a minor in International Affairs. Her research interests include climate change and global warming and human rights development. Upon graduation, she plans on furthering her education by pursuing a graduate degree in journalism with a focus in international relations.

 
Wintzer, Lubba

Lubba Wintzer

Global Connections Scholar for Middle Eastern Studies

Lubba Wintzer is the Spring 2017 Global Connections Scholar for Middle Eastern Studies for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minors in European Studies and Middle Eastern Studies. She is a member of the International Relations club and Knights for Israel. Her research interests include Middle Eastern issues, the relationship between the United States, Europe and Russia, and the effect of one State’s decision upon the world. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in International Relations or Conflict Resolution. A student of French and Hebrew, Wintzer has traveled throughout Europe, Africa, Asia and the Middle East.

Sara Lynn Ard

David Boone Human Trafficking Awareness Sr. Scholar

Sara Lynn Ard is the Spring 2017 David Boone Human Trafficking Awareness Sr. Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a dual bachelor degree in Political Science and Legal Studies, with a minor in Sociology. She is a member of the International Justice Mission, Greater Orlando Human Trafficking Task Force and The Clinton Global Initiative University. Her research interests include human trafficking, counterterrorism and the rights of women and children. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s degree in a field related to global affairs. A student of English decent, Ard has traveled throughout the U.S. as well as to Honduras.

Alejandro Turino

Intern

Alejandro Turino is a Spring 2017 Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Political Science, a minor in intelligence/national security and a certificate in diplomacy. His research interests include the Middle East, Terrorism, Diplomacy and American Foreign Policy. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a graduate degree in Political Science or International Relations, with the eventual goal of working in the international arena. A Cuban native, Turino is bilingual in English and Spanish and has traveled throughout the Caribbean.

Angie Torres

Intern

Angie Torres is a Spring 2017 Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a B.A. in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Global Peace and Security Studies. She is a member of the Vice President’s Student Advisory Council and Knight-Thon. Her research interests include human rights, developing nations and the relationship between women and national security. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing graduate studies or joining the Peace Corps. A native speaker of Spanish, Torres plans to study French and has traveled throughout North and Central America.

Hannah Kipersztok

Senior Intern

Hannah Kipersztok is a Spring 2017 Senior Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in Political Science with a minor in Mass Communication. She is a member of Student Government Association and Knights for Israel. Her research interests include religion, global terrorism and cultural studies. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in International Communication or Mass Communication. A student of Spanish and Hebrew, Kipersztok has travelled to Mexico, Brazil, Nicaragua, Israel, Australia, New Zealand, Thailand, Singapore and Fiji.
