Knight, Eleanor

Eleanor Knight

Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow

Eleanor M. Knight is the Fall 2019 Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, with minors in Anthropological Archaeology and Asian Studies. Her research interests include refugee flow, climate change, and current environmental impacts of coastal occupation. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing graduate studies. A student of Korean, with proficiency in Spanish and Japanese, she has traveled to ten countries, and done archaeology fieldwork in Turks and Caicos in 2018.

 
Savla , Dishanki

Dishanki Savla

Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow

Dishanki Savla is the Fall 2019 Lawrence J. Chastang Global Fellow for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology, with a minor in Statistics. She is a member of The Burnett Honors College and a part of the Technology and Aging Lab. Her research interest includes global development and education, women’s rights and microfinancing. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a master’s in industrial organizational psychology. A student proficient in English and five other regional languages of India has traveled to United Arab Emirates, Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Macau, Germany, France, Switzerland, Netherlands, Belgium and the United States.

 
Aguilar , Elizabeth

Elizabeth Aguilar

Intern

Elizabeth Aguilar is a Fall 2019 intern for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s in International & Global Studies, a minor in Writing & Rhetoric, and certificates in Intelligence & National Security and Teaching English as a Foreign Language. She has been a member of the United Nations Association at UCF and Hearts for the Homeless Orlando. Her research interests include Asian politics, diplomacy, and education policy. A native Spanish speaker and student of French and Mandarin, Elizabeth has traveled throughout the United States, Mexico, Canada, and China. She aspires to one day serve as a Foreign Service Officer in the Public Diplomacy cone.

 
Porterfield, Emily

Emily Porterfield

Intern

Emily Porterfield is a Fall 2019 intern for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with minors in Spanish and International and Global Studies. She is the Executive Director of the United Nations Association of Orlando and a member of Beta Zeta Phi. Her research interests include Latin American politics and environmental issues such as biodiversity loss. A student of English and Spanish, she has traveled throughout Western Europe and studied abroad in Madrid, Spain in 2019.

Jacob Lieberman

Stephen Sloan Terrorism Studies Fellow

Jacob Lieberman is the Fall 2019 Stephen Sloan Terrorism Studies Fellow for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. He is a Junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science/Pre-Law with a certificate in Diplomacy. He is the president of the United Nations Association and a member of the Burnett Honors College. His research interests include global peace and security, human trafficking, and climate change. Upon graduation, he plans on pursuing a law degree. A student of Spanish, he has traveled to Spain and Canada.

 
Rentas Negrón, Katina

Katina Rentas Negrón

Intern

Katina Rentas Negrón is the Fall 2019 intern for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Latin American Studies. She is a member of the Puerto Rican Student Association (PRSA) and participates in the International Relations Club. Her research interests include diplomacy, political instability, immigration and women’s rights in Latin America. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in International Relations and a career in foreign service. A student of Spanish, she  has traveled to the Dominican Republic, Colombia, and Panama.

 
Norzagary, Marisa

Marisa Norzagary

European Studies Fellow

Marisa Norzagary is the Fall 2019 European Studies Fellow for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology, with a minor in Linguistics. Her research interests include historical linguistics, identity politics and international relations. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a graduate degree in Linguistic Anthropology. A student of Korean and Spanish, she plans to travel to Korea and Latin America to conduct research.
