Melendez, Daniella

Daniella Melendez

Intern

Daniella Melendez is an intern for the Global Perspectives office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in Political Science, with a minor in English Literature and a certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language. Her research interests include immigration, homelessness, and English literature. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science. A student of Spanish, Melendez has travelled to Peru and Canada.

 
Ram, Christen

Christen Ram

International Law Fellow

Christen Ram is the International Law Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International and Global Studies, with a double minor in Diplomacy and Spanish. She is a member of the Honors Congress and Delta Epsilon Iota Honor Society. Her research interests include diplomacy, human rights and terrorism studies. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing graduate studies in international relations. A student of Spanish, Ram has lived in Guyana and traveled throughout Western Europe and the Caribbean.

 
Berrios, Melissa

Melissa Berrios

Senior Intern

Melissa Berrios is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in European Studies. She is a member of Sigma Alpha Pi Fraternity and Chi Omega Sorority. Her research interests include European history, politics, and culture. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a Master’s degree in International Communication. A student of Spanish, French, and Portuguese, Berrios has traveled to Chile, Argentina, Holland, Germany, Turkey, France, and Italy.

 
Lobo, Rafaella

Rafaella Lobo

Intern

Rafaella Lobo is an intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is on her first year of graduate school, pursuing a Master’s degree in Political Science – Environmental Politics. Her research interests include Global Environmental Politics, Sustainability and Conservation Biology, with a special interest in Marine Conservation Biology. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a PHD degree in Environmental Studies. A current student of French, Lobo is fluent in Portuguese, English and Spanish. She is from Brazil, and has traveled to many different states within the US, as well as Mexico, Canada, South Africa, and all over Western Europe. She has also lived in many of these locations, as part of university exchange, volunteer work and language programs.

 
Joseph, Marcul

Marcul Joseph

Lawrence J. Chastang Fellow

Marcul Joseph is the Lawrence J. Chastang Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a junior at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science – International Relations and Comparative Politics, with minors in French and Economics and a certificate in Diplomacy. Joseph is the president of French Circle, the vice president of Pi Delta Phi, the National French Honor Society at UCF, and an active member of the UCF Speech and Debate Team. His research interests include democracy in Africa, human trafficking and diplomacy in the Middle East. Upon graduation, he plans on attending law school. A native of Haiti, Joseph is fluent in Haitian Créole and French, conversational in Spanish and is currently studying Arabic. He has traveled throughout North America, including the Caribbean.
