Allison Lee was a Summer 2016 senior intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a junior at UCF pursuing a bachelor’s degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Asian Studies. She is a member of the Japanese Culture Club and the Burnett Honors College. Her research interests include East Asia, human rights and diplomacy. Upon graduation, she plans on teaching English abroad before going on to pursue a master’s degree in International Relations. A student of Japanese, Lee has traveled to Japan, France, Spain, Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.
Global Connections Scholar
Emily Jaczko was a Summer 2016 Global Connections Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at Rollins College pursuing an undergraduate degree in Communications, with a minor in International Affairs. Her research interests include climate change and global warming and human rights development. Upon graduation, she plans on furthering her education by pursuing a graduate degree in journalism with a focus in international relations.
Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow
Huong Dang was the Summer 2016 Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mathematics and Computer Science. She is a member of the Burnett Honors College and Honors Educational Reach Out (HERO). Her research interests pertain to human trafficking, human rights abuses and environmental sustainability. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a software developer position where she can create language learning and speech recognition programs. Dang is fluent in English and Vietnamese, and she aims to be quadrilingual through her studies of German and Korean. Dang hopes to study abroad in South Korea in the summer of 2017.
