Cosgrove, Maeve

Maeve Cosgrove

Intern

Maeve Cosgrove is a Summer 2017 Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, with a minor in Women’s and Gender Studies. She currently serves on the executive board for both the National Organization for Women and the national service sorority Omega Phi Alpha. Her research interests include women’s rights and global education. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing a career in nonprofit management or public service. Cosgrove has traveled throughout Europe, Asia and Australia.

 
La Rosa, Lucy Clement

Lucy Clement La Rosa

Intern

Lucy Clement La Rosa is a Summer 2017 Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. She recently graduated from the University of Central Florida, with an undergraduate degree in International and Global Studies, and minors in Spanish and National Intelligence and Security. She was a member of the Student of Undergraduate Research Council (SURC) and completed an Honors in the Major thesis. Her research interests include drug trafficking, arms trafficking and Latin American studies. This fall, La Rosa will pursue an M.A. in International Relations at the University of San Diego. A student of Spanish, La Rosa has traveled to Italy, France, the Caribbean, Japan and South Korea.

 
Balikowski, Philip

Philip Balikowski

Intern

Philip Balikowski is a Summer 2017 Intern for the Global Perspectives Office. He is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing a degree in International and Global Studies, with a minor in Intelligence and National Security. He is a member of The Burnett Honors College and a Brother of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. His research interests include Sino-American relations, Chinese politics and diplomacy. Upon graduation, he plans to pursue a career in the U.S. Department of State or intelligence community, following graduate studies. A student of Mandarin, Balikowski has traveled to the Philippines and England.

 
Dovydaitis, Jenna

Jenna Dovydaitis

Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow

Jenna Dovydaitis is the Summer 2017 Francis Bok Human Trafficking Awareness Fellow for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a sophomore at the University of Central Florida pursuing undergraduate degrees in Biology and French with minor in International and Global Studies. She is a member of the Burnett Medical Scholars and is a Team Leader for The Burnett Honors College. Her research interests include human trafficking, medical sociology and epidemiology. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing either a career as a Foreign Service Officer or a career in the field of international medicine. A student of French, Dovydaitis has traveled throughout the francophone world in Europe and Canada.

 
Ruchser, Jamie

Jamie Ruchser

Global Connections Scholar

Jamie Ruchser is the Summer 2017 Global Connections Scholar for the Global Perspectives Office. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing an undergraduate degree in International and Global Studies with minors in Spanish and French. She is a member of the Geospatial Information Society at UCF and a Planned Parenthood Volunteer. Her research interests include the Middle East, Asia and European Affairs. Upon graduation, she plans on pursuing employment with the U.S. Department of State. A student of Spanish and French, Ruchser has traveled in the Caribbean and Europe.
