Protesters have marched in the United States for six consecutive nights over the death of George Floyd at the hands of a police officer (CNN World). Floyd, an unarmed black man, died o f suffocation after a white police officer knelt on his neck for eight minutes (Reuters). Thousands of people around the world have rallied in solidarity with anti-racism protests in the United States (Al Jazeera). Protesters from France to Syria to New Zealand to Kenya are carrying signs and shouting chants in support of the anti-racism movement, Black Lives Matter (Rolling Stone).

South African protesters gathered outside parliament Parliament in Cape Town in solidarity with the Black Lives Matter movement condemning racial injustice (AA). In Rio de Janeiro, Brazil the death of Matheus Oliveira, a black man, by the police on Saturday fueled anti-racism protests at the Guanabara Palace (Brasil de Fato). Tens of thousands of people chanting “no justice, no peace, no racist police” marched through central London on Wednesday to protest (Reuters). In Berlin’s famous Mauerpark, where street artists can paint sections of the former Berlin wall, a memorial to Floyd has now appeared (DW).
