Biography

Karen Solla is the Public Affairs Coordinator for UCF’s Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives (GPII), where she oversees the Internship and Fellowship Program and the Diplomacy Program. She works closely with the Puerto Rico Research Hub and previously served with the UCF Center for the Study of Human Trafficking and Modern Slavery.

Solla holds a B.A. in History with a minor in French and has presented research on World War II Special Operations, reflecting her longstanding interest in global narratives and cross-cultural resilience.

She co-authored a chapter on the use of social media in human trafficking for the textbook Human Trafficking: A Systemwide Public Safety and Community Approach, 2nd Edition. She is currently pursuing her M.A. in Communication at the University of Central Florida.
