Biography
Lundon Shields is the Spring 2025 Diplomacy Intern for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a senior at the University of Central Florida pursuing an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences on a Pre-clinical track. Shields is a member of the UCF Association of Pre-Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants and a 2023 Gilman International Scholar. Her research interests include epidemiology of infectious diseases in children of developing nations, China-Taiwan cross-strait relations, and medical ethics in conflict zones. Upon graduation, she plans to research in Taiwan for a year before matriculating into medical school. A student of Mandarin Chinese, Shields has traveled to Taipei, Taiwan for immersive language and culture study.
