Biography

Dr. Mirvate El Jerdi has over 15 years of diverse higher education experience in the Middle East and United States. She is passionate about local and global outreach particularly in creating and strengthening comprehensive and strategic partnerships and collaboration that provide opportunities for engagement across UCF encompassing research, education, the arts, culture, and philanthropy. She received her MEd from the University of Central Oklahoma and completed her EdD in Educational Leadership- Higher Education Track from the University of Central Florida.

El Jerdi has held several positions including faculty, counselor, director of student services, and public relations professional. At the University of Central Florida, she has provided immigration advising, programming, and targeted support to UCF’s international students. She has also managed the special programs from the MENA region and served as the liaison for embassies, foreign government entities, and private international partners. In her current position, El Jerdi cultivates strategic relationships locally, domestically, and internationally including engaging with university partners, governments, think tanks, journalists and experts in the Middle East and North Africa. She also supports the overall operation of GPII providing project leadership and management as well as subject matter expertise on MENA related issues and projects.
El Jerdi is fluent in Arabic and English.
