Biography
Rutwa Shah is the Spring 2025 Puerto Rico Research Hub Fellow for the Office of Global Perspectives and International Initiatives. She is a Junior at the University of Central Florida, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and Sociology. Shah is a member of MEDLIFE, the Pediatric Association of Caring Knights, and a student at the Burnett Honors College. Her research interests include improving women’s and pediatric health, addressing socioeconomic disparities in healthcare, and optimizing healthcare systems to better serve community needs. Upon graduation, she plans to attend medical school and integrate medical sociology into her practice. A student of English, Gujarati, basic Spanish and Hindi, Shah has traveled to India, Peru, and throughout the United States.
